From Emily's Grandparents

I would really, really love to be able to attend the Grandparent's day, but unfortunately it's not possible. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful day. When I was at school in England in the 1950's things were very, very different from your school today. For one thing, most schools were for either girls or boys not both together. Girls learned things like cooking and needlework, while boys did woodwork and metalwork. Some schools had uniforms, but others didn't. Boys didn't wear long trousers until they were in their teens, however cold it was. And girls always wore dresses or skirts, not trousers or tights. Things like Invitation to our Grandparents

Holes? Dots? Internation Dot Day September 15th

We are a creative bunch, and we loved the Book of Holes.

Great sounds here!

How many holes can you see?

Many ways to think about holes
Coming on the 15th of September is Internation Dot  Day

September 15th marks the anniversary of the
publication of best-selling author/illustrator
Peter H. Reynolds’ The Dot, a “story book for all
ages.” Starting in 2009, a group of educators began
celebrating this date as International Dot Day — a day
for classes to explore the story’s powerful themes:
bravery, creativity, and self-expression.

Be creative, breave and express yourself!  Complete your DOT sheet and watch it come to life with Augmented Reality through the ColAR Mix App

#kidsedchat on Twitter

I just had to share how this learner has summarised #kidsedchat in such a visual way.
They are using touchcast to combine visuals with their explanation.  Make a comment on the site.

Thanks for this 4.5 at Russell Street School.

Graham Braddock art with Jane

It so exciting to be artists. Jane helped us realise that we are artists. There are some really simple tips to help us.
